Gordie “Mr. Hockey” Howie has died at the age of 88. The Detroit Red Wings Hall of Famer played 26 seasons in the National Hockey League and 6 seasons in the World Hockey Association. Through his career, he’s won the Stanley Cup four times, won 6 Hart Trophies as MVP, and won 6 Art Ross Trophies as the leading scorer during his time with the Red Wings between 1946 and 1971.
Howie underwent stem cell treatment after a stroke he suffered in October of 2014 and he recovered well. Howie will be greatly missed and prayers go out to his family.
